Q: Why do foreigners need to get Tibet Travel Permit (TTP)?

KLM launches scheduled service to Chengdu, China.

KLM will be launching a scheduled service between Amsterdam and Chengdu in Central China effective May 28, 2006. The new roundtrip flight will be operated twice weekly.
 
AMSTELVEEN, January 24, 2006 ¨C KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch scheduled service between Amsterdam and Chengdu in central China effective May 28, 2006. The new roundtrip flight will operate twice weekly using a Boeing 777-200ER. The service is in cooperation with partner China Southern.

Timetable & ticket prices for trains into and out of Tibet

***Beijing West-Lhasa
Train T27 will start from Beijing West Railway Station at 20:09 and arrive at Lhasa Railway Station at 16:00 on the third day after 42 hours and 21 minutes' running.
Train T28 will depart from Lhasa Railway Station at 13:45 am. and arrive in Beijing west at 8:06 am.

Tibet Travel Permit

  There are overall five documents required for foreign tourists who want to travel freely in Tibet.
  -  One is the Chinese Visa, which you can apply for in Chinese Embassy in your country (If you go to Tibet via mainland China).
  -  One is Tibet Tourism Bureau Permit (TTB), which you have to obtain in order to enter Tibet.
  -  One is the Alien Travel Permit, when you are planning to travel to the 'unopened' areas in Tibet.
